Our Mission + Philosophy
The BluePenny Project is a non profit organization that consists of a coalition of volunteers in blue states helping people obtain needed healthcare that may be restricted by where they live.
We at the Blue Penny Project we do not believe geography should affect access to healthcare.
According to a 2024 report, over 65 million dollars of pennies are discarded in the US yearly.
As a small non profit
We believe every blue state penny counts towards raising funds for helping individuals receive abortion care, IVF treatments, gender affirming care, and other much needed medications. The total population of blue states that affirm access to the above examples far exceeds 100 million and if even a single blue penny were donated to these causes, we could raise 1 million annually. The US Treasury currently has no plans to abolish the penny, and we believe that so long as our penny is legal tender, each and every one adds up to making a positive difference in the life of another.
